Downsizing Can Be Good
I've traded in my nearly 7lb bomb-proof pack (left) for an ultralight one. The new pack is 61% lighter per cubic inch. Thanks to REI's 100% satisfaction guarantee, my mint condition, two-year-old ArcTeryx Bora 80 was no problem to return for a full refund. The new one is on order but will arrive soon. I'm excited to see if my gear still fits inside with room for food & water, but I'm almost sure it will. The saying for ultralight backpackers is "every ounce counts." I'd like to add that every pound counts sixteen times!

Congrats on finding the right pack! I was worried when i couldn't find you blog but the new look is good. How has your schedule worked out? Brad says there is a change in classes? Miss you, Mom
